Corbett and Wilson earn Skyline Conference Honors in Volleyball

Troy, NY---- The release of the 2010 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball All-Star Team on Wednesday brought good news to The Sage Colleges women's volleyball team. Senior co-captain Nicole Corbett (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) was named to the All-Star First team, while junior libero Kelsey Wilson (Schenectady, NY/Bishop Gibbins) was placed on the Second Team.

Corbett becomes the first Sage student-athlete in any sport to earn Skyline Conference All-Star First Team honors every single season. With her 2010 selection, she is a four-time first team honoree. The selection for Wilson is the first of her career.

Just last week, Corbett earned a spot on the 2010 CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team for her accomplishments both on the court and in the classroom. She distinguished herself as the program's all-time block leader after connecting for 449 blocks. She ranks 3rd on the career list with her 0.97 blocks per game career average, while having tallied 1,131 career kills (No. 4). Her 2.43 kills per game average during her career ranks 6th, while her name appears also on several of Sage's single-season lists as well.

Corbett finished 2010 with a team-high 226 kills with 71 blocks in 99 sets played with 30 starts. During the course of her career, she ranked every season among the Top 10 in single-season block performances, while her 2010 numbers sit in the No. 10 spot and her 2010 per set total of 0.72 ranks 13th best as well. Corbett ranks seventh in the Skyline Conference in kills per set (2.27), while ranking fifth with her 0.72 blocks per set average.

Wilson wrapped her third season as a Gator and has also made an assault on the record books. She had 415 digs this fall, elevating her career total to 1,179 digs. She stands in the No. 5 spot after her three seasons in a Sage uniform. Her 2010 season numbers included 25 setting assists with a team-best 35 serving aces. She averaged 4.19 digs per set ranks third in the Skyline, while she was one of just three players in the league with 400 or more digs this fall.

Sage's women's volleyball team has earned four straight Skyline Conference Tournament appearances during the last four seasons, while also garnering two NCAA Tournament appearances (2007 and 2008), two Skyline Conference Championships (2007 and 2008) and the league's runner-up title in 2009.
