Saratoga Springs, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team was in action on Saturday in the final day of the Skidmore College Invitational. Sage topped St. John Fisher, 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-23) in the first match of the day and then beat Hamilton, 3-0 (25-17, 27-24, 25-19). The Gators have now won 11 straight matches and stand at 14-4 on the year.
Sage was well represented on the Skidmore College All-Tournament Team as senior tri-captain Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) was named the MVP and sophomore setter and team tri-captain Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) earned all-tournament.

Against St. John Fisher the Gators avenged an earlier loss on the season (3-2) with their victory on Saturday as Putriment as she racked up a double-double with her 15 kills and 16 digs. Sage's sophomore Liebig handed out 42 setting assists with three aces and seven digs. Liebig surpassed the 1,000 career setting assist in the match (1,010) and became the eighth player in program history to join the 1,000 setting assist club as she now has 1,048 after both of Sage's matches on Saturday and she now ranks No. 8 all-time at Sage.
Sophomore Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) had 13 kills with four digs and two block assists. Sophomore outside hitter Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) connected for a team-best 27 digs. Senior Rachel Martin (Troy, NY/Troy) connected for 10 kills, while junior tri-captain Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) added seven kills with an ace and a block assist.
Mango continues to add to her career block totals as she has 173 and stands No. 6 on the career list as a Gator.
Against Hamilton Sage got a double-double from Putriment as she connected for 13 kills with 14 digs. Martin added 10 kills with two blocks, while senior Stacey Forte (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) added seven kills. Liebig added 38 setting assists and Wilder tallied 12 digs. Rookie Missy Scheiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) tallied 10 digs for the Gators.
Putriment is making her run for the Sage career kills mark as she is currently No. 2 with her 1,221 kills and now has 1,560 digs as one of just three Gators with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs on their careers.
Sage returns to action on October 1 hosting Castleton State at 7 p.m. in the Kahl Gym on Wednesday. The week wraps with the Gators travelling on October 4 for a noon Skyline Conference match at Maritime College.
