Sage women's volleyball squad continues winning ways on Saturday

Throggs Neck, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to SUNY-Maritime College on Saturday for a Skyline Conference match and came away with a 3-0 win (25-6, 25-6, 25-22). The Gators have extended their overall win streak to 13 games, while also extending their conference win streak to 16 as well. Sage's last conference loss was on October 3, 2012. The last league setback came on that date to Mt. St. Mary College, 3-1. Sage is 16-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference on the season.

Sage's senior tri-captain Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) posted a double-double with her 12 kills and 10 digs. Senior Rachel Martin (Troy, NY/Troy) connected for nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) racked up two aces and 13 digs, while being perfect with her 12 receptions with no errors.

Sophomore setter and team tri-captain Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) led the Gators with her 32 setting assists and added an ace. Junior tri-captain Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) added four kills with four total blocks.  Mango continues to add to her career block totals as she has 178 and stands No. 5 on the career list as a Gator as she moved ahead of Jessica Nelson (2005-2007, 177).

Liebig has 1,110 career setting assists and is No. 7 all-time at Sage, while Putriment has 1,240 kills, which ranks No. 2 all-time at Sage. She also has 1,578 career digs and stands No. 4 at Sage.

Sage returns to action on October 8 travelling to Bard College for a non-conference match as 7 p.m.
