Sage volleyball still perfect in Skyline play with 3-1 win at MSMC

Newburgh, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to Mt. St. Mary College for a Skyline Conference match and came away with another league win to remain perfect in conference play. Sage bested the Knights, 3-1 (20-25,25-18,25-21,25-21). The win puts Sage at 9-14 overall and 4-0 in the Skyline Conference.

For the Gators, junior outside hitter Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) racked up another double-double as she had 13 kills with 20 digs. Rookie Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) added 11 kills for the Gators.

Senior setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) handed out 36 setting assists with 15 digs and four kills. Junior defensive specialist Katelyn Drollette (Cadyville, NY/Saranac) had 22 dig, while freshman outside Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) added five digs.

Putriment, who earned her fourth Skyline Conference Player of the Week selection now has 1,170 her career digs, which is No. 6 at Sage. She also has 915 career kills and ranks No. 5 on the career list.

Sage returns to action on October 13 hosting a Skyline Conference Tri-Match in the Neff Center with matches at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The action features Sage, Maritime College and Yeshiva University.
