Volleyball collects 3-0 win over Utica behind Putriment's double-double

Utica, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to Utica College for a non-conference match and came away with a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-21, 25-13). The win puts Sage at 13-15 on the year.

Sage's junior Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) added a double-double as she had 15 kills with 10 digs and an aces.

Rookie Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) added seven kills for Sage with an ace, four digs, and three block assists.

Junior libero Katelyn Drollette (Cadyville, NY/Saranac) had 18 digs and now has 993 career digs, which is No. 13 on the career list.

Putriment now has 953 career kills, which stands No. 5 in the Gators career record book. She is poised to become the first player since the 2007 season to have 1,000 career digs and 1,000 career kills. The last player to achieve the feat was Catelyn Samoranski, who had 1,154 kills and 1,093 digs.  Putriment will join an exclusive club at Sage that when she hits the mark will boast just four members including herself as she has 1,197 career digs, which stands No. 6 on the Gator career list.

Freshman outside Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) added nine, while rookie setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) made the start for Sage and had 34 setting assists.

Sage returns to action on October 26 travelling to Farmingdale State College for a Skyline play-date and will face Farmingdale at Noon and NYU-Poly at 2 p.m.
