Houghton, N.Y. – Russell Sage College's women's cross country team was in action Saturday morning on the campus of Houghton University in the 2022 Empire 8 Championship. St. John Fisher University won the women's championship title for the third straight year with a score of 44 points. First year head coach Regan Grube led the team to a sixth place showing in the championship and had two runners saluted as all-league performers.

RSC's sophomore Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) finished in the Top Ten as she placed seventh in 23:50.7. Junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) posted a time of 24:17.5 and took home 12th place. For Ingellis, who earned two Runner of the Week citations this fall, earned Empire 8 First Team honors for her effort today after she was a third team honoree in 2021. Feeney picked up her third straight Empire 8 All-Conference citation with her effort this fall.
Senior Mia Unverzagt (Ellenville, NY/Evansville) posted a time of 31:03.6 and finished in 60th place. Sophomore Maddison Walter (Moreau, NY/South Glens Falls) added a time of 33:12.6 and was 65th in her first race, while junior Hethar Scutt (Ancramdale, NY/Taconic Hills) posted a time of 37:34.8 and took home 71st place.
