Keuka Park, NY – Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team collected a 21-5 road win over Keuka College on Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 action. The Gators improve to 5-5 and stand at 2-2 in the Empire 8, while Keuka drops to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the league. The Gators lead 11-4 at the half and piled on six goals in the third and another four in the fourth despite a considerable weather delay in the third quarter.
RSC's first year head coach Rob Bray has already tied last year's overall and Empire 8 win totals with three Empire 8 matches on the docket to wrap the regular-season.
RSC got five goals from a pair of players, junior midfielder Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) and junior attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland). Key handed out one assist as well to finish with six points.
On the 2023 season, Hines is enjoying a career-best campaign as she leads the Gators with her 55 points on 45 goals with Hines now has 108 career points which is second best all-time at RSC. Her 92 career goals is also second highest.
Senior midfielder Caroline Musinski (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) added four goals and two assists with 10 draw controls. She is also climbing the Gators record book as she now has 88 career points and is fifth, while her 30 career assists is now second highest all-time.
Junior attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) tallied two goals with four assists elevating her career resume to include 92 career points, which is fourth highest. She has 66 career goals and is now second all-time with her 155 draw controls.
RSC's junior midfielder Ashley Hearn (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) also was a big asset for RSC as she had four goals with an assist, four caused turnovers and a draw control. Sophomore Maddison Walter (Moreau, NY/South Glens Falls) added two points on a goal and assist.
Sophomore goalie Madalyn Walsh (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) made three saves with five goals allowed and improves to 5-5 this season. A first-year performer with the Gators she already has five career wins between the pipes and tied for third on the Gators career victory list.
Looking ahead, the Gators will host Utica University on April 19 at 3p.m.i n ACP Stadium.
