HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – Russell Sage College completed the sweep of its three-game Empire 8 Conference weekend series at Elmira with a 17-7 (7 innings) victory this morning.
The Gators (10-11/4-2 E8), received contributions throughout the lineup en route to registering 20 hits in the road win.
Sophomore outfielder Brendan Espinal (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), sophomore infielder Dom Caminitti (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac), sophomore outfielder Leandro Guzman (New Britain, CT/New Britain), and freshman infielder Carter Albano (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) tallied three hits apiece.
Senior outfielder James Lubanski (Port Washington, NY/Paul D. Schreiber), who crossed home three times, Caminitti, and sophomore infielder Christian Brown (Troy, NY/Troy) each drove in three runs.
The Gators, winners of ten of their last 14 games, got started quickly with a four-run first.
Up 7-3, RSC broke the contest open with eight runs in the fourth to help end things early on the Soaring Eagles (3-15/0-6 E8).
The Gators, in the midst of a stretch of five games in four days, are slated to play next tomorrow afternoon at Union.
