ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Volleyball senior outside hitter Macey Salvione (Johnstown, NY/Gloversville) was voted second-team All-Empire 8 Conference for the second-straight autumn.  The results of the voting, which was conducted by the league's head coaches, were announced earlier today.

Salvione capped her regular season leading the Conference with 420.0 points, 77 aces, and 0.85 aces per-set. The stats all put the outside hitter in the top-25 nationally in all of those categories, including fourth in the country with 77 aces and 0.85 aces per-set.

"Macey has been an incredible impact player for us," said Head Coach Rosilyn Cummings. "She brings fire and competitiveness into our gym every day and is one of the most well rounded, athletic and versatile players I've ever coached. She is a force both offensively and defensively, as well as from the service line. Macey has brought so much to our program at Sage and we are excited for her to receive this honor!"

The two-time E8 Player of the Week also finished the regular season ranked second in the E8 in kills (340), kills per-set (3.74), points per-set (4.62). She tallied double-digit kills 18 times and achieved 11 double-doubles to help RSC (14-14) qualify for the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament for the first time.

One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024 E8 Women's Volleyball Sportswomen of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.  Sophomore outside hitter Madeline Mott (Fultonville, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) represented the Gators on the squad.
