DELHI, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had six players register three or more kills in tonight's 3-0 non-conference sweep at SUNY Delhi. The Gators (5-3), now on a two-game winning streak, were victorious by scores of: 25-19, 25-11, 25-3.
Senior outside hitter Macey Salvione (Johnstown, NY/Gloversville), who ranks second in the Empire 8 Conference with 4.11 kills per-set, led the way with 17 kills on .342 hitting, 15 digs, and two aces. She tallied her second-straight double-double and fourth of the season in the road triumph.
Junior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) and junior middle hitter Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) added four kills apiece. Gerkman elevated 13 SUNY Delhi attacks, while Kelley hit .308 and totaled four blocks.
As a team, RSC achieved a .308 attack percentage and aced 14 serves.
Setter Emma Rainville (Castleton, NY/Columbia/Binghamton), a grad student, ran the offense to the run of 30 assists, while senior libero Katelyn Atchinson (Alplaus, NY/Niskayuna/Saint Rose), currently atop the Conference in total digs, registered 15 digs and five aces.
Sophomore outside hitter Finley Benn topped SUNY Delhi (2-6), now on a five-game slide, with five kills.
Looking ahead, RSC hosts SUNY Oneonta and Williams on Friday evening.
