Gators Return to the Win Column

ANNADALE-on-HUDSON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College returned to the win column with this evening's 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 10-25, 25-23) non-conference victory at Bard.

Senior outside hitter Macey Salvione (Johnstown, NY/Gloversville), who was announced as the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 15, topped all participants with 14 kills across the four sets. She added 11 digs and three aces for her sixth double-double of the fall.

Junior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) registered career-highs of 13 kills and six aces to help RSC snap a three-game slide.

Senior libero Katelyn Atchinson (Alplaus, NY/Niskayuna/Saint Rose) elevated 18 Bard attacks, while setter Emma Rainville (Castleton, NY/Columbia/Binghamton), a grad student, distributed 34 assists.

Freshman outside hitter Coral Cook paced Bard (2-8) with 13 kills. 

RSC (7-6) is off this weekend, returning to the court on Wednesday, September 25 vs. MCLA.


Gator Bites: A dozen Gators returned to the court in 2024…Salvione, middle hitter Monalissa Carius (Hudson, NY/Hudson), a grad student, and junior middle hitter Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) headlined the group…Head Coach Rosilyn Cummings added four newcomers including transfers Atchinson and Rainville to the squad…Cummings will be inducted into the SUNY Plattsburgh Athletic Hall of Fame on September 27…Salvione was announced as the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 15…She commenced the week ranked second in the Conference with 3.88 kills per-set.
