RSC Women's Volleyball Practices in Purple and Teal to Raise Awareness of Mental Health Causes

ALBANY - September is National Suicide Prevention Month and Alzheimer's Awareness Month and multiple Russell Sage College Athletic programs, including women's tennis, women's volleyball, and women's basketball, have been practicing in teal and purple to raise awareness for both mental health causes.

"It was important to dedicate a practice to Alzheimer's to raise awareness and get people thinking about the impact the disease has and support those who are affected by it," said women's volleyball junior right side Shea Bryant (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes).

"Both our tennis and women's basketball teams came together to support and raise awareness to causes that are important to us," added Michael Branche, the Head Coach of both programs. "It was great to see everyone participate."

These efforts serve as a powerful reminder that there are steps we all must take in looking out for loved ones, the people in our community, and those who have been impacted by both suicide and Alzheimer's disease.
