NEW YORK – The Skyline Conference coaches have selected senior Morgan Dunn (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) as the 2016 Skyline Softball Player of the Year. Joining Dunn on the Skyline First-Team are graduate student Katie Kovage (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central), juniors Jessica Adams (Nassau, NY/Columbia) and Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) and sophomore Alexa Silk (Freehold, NY/Greenville).

Dunn, a two-time Skyline Player of the Week this season, had the premiere bat in the conference this season. On 132 at-bats, the third baseman recorded 63 hits, 51 RBI's, 42 runs, 20 doubles, nine homeruns, three stolen bases and one triple. With the Gators still to play the in the Skyline final, Dunn has a .477 average, 6th in Sage single-season records, and a .848 slugging percentage. The senior ranks nationally in RBI's (8th), doubles per game (13th, 0.5), slugging percentage (16th), RBI's per game (16th, 1.34) and batting average (29th). Dunn currently leads the Skyline in hits, RBI's, doubles, home runs, and total bases (113). The Cohoes native has permanently etched her name in the Sage record books after only two seasons with the Gators. Dunn ranks in single-season doubles (1st, 20), single-season home runs (1st, nine), single-season RBI's (1st, 51) single-season hits (2nd, 63), career batting average (2nd, .430), single-season runs (4th, 42), career home runs (4th, 14), career RBI's (4th, 84), and career doubles (5th, 30). This is Dunn's second all-conference team honor (2015 Skyline Second-Team)

Kovage was recognized as a Skyline First-Team selection for both hitting and pitching. On the mound, the senior recorded a 2.89 ERA, 49 strikeouts, nine wins and seven complete games in 13 appearances. Over 74.1 innings of work, Kovage's opponent batting average was .257. A Skyline Pitcher of the Week this season, the graduate student is one of Sage's top pitchers in school history. Kovage ranks in career wins (1st, 34), career strikeouts (2nd, 217), career innings pitched (2nd, 356.1), single-season strikeouts (4th, 74), single-season wins (5th, 11), career ERA (6th, 2.08), career complete games (7th, 32) and single-season ERA (9th, 2.89).

At the plate, Kovage has totaled 30 hits, 19 RBI's, 11 runs, seven doubles and one home run at 77 at-bats. The designated player has a .390 batting average on the season with a .519 slugging percentage. In addition to spots in Sage's pitching records, Kovage finds herself in the book for hitting as well. The Hoosick Falls native ranks in Sage career RBI's (5th, 83), single-season RBI's (6th, 38), career doubles (7th, 25), career hits (7th, 114), career walks (9th, 35) and single-season hits (10th, 47). This is Kovage's third all-conference team honor (2014 Skyline First-Team, 2015 Skyline Second-Team).

Rimawi had the best season of her two-year career at Sage with 52 hits, 44 RBI's, 42 runs, 11 doubles, 11 walks, seven home runs and five stolen bases on 137 at-bats. A Skyline Player of the Week once this season, Rimawi had a .423 batting average and a .613 slugging percentage. The junior outfielder leads the Skyline in runs and plate appearances (158). Rimawi has found her way into the Sage record books in single-season home runs (3rd, seven), single-season RBI's (3rd, 43), single-season runs (4th, 42), single-season hits (7th, 52), career home runs (7th, 11), and career RBI's (10th, 65). This is Rimawi's first all-conference team honor.

Adams was tapped as the Skyline First-Team shortstop with 46 hits, 30 runs, 27 RBI's, 14 doubles, nine stolen bases, seven walks, three home runs and one triple. The junior has a .377 batting average with a .582 slugging percentage. Adams is a force on the defensive end with a .892 fielding percentage, 89 assists, a Skyline best, and 52 putouts. The Nassau native ranks in single-season doubles (4th, 14), career hits (7th, 114) and career stolen bases (8th, 21) in Sage history. This is Adams' second all-conference team honor (2015 Skyline Second-Team).

Rounding out the Gators on the all-conference teams is Silk. The sophomore has totaled 44 hits, 38 runs, 16 RBI's, eight doubles, six stolen bases, five home runs, five walks and one triple on 113 at-bats. The second baseman has a .389 batting average with a .558. A Skyline Player of the Week once this season, Silk is in the Sage record books for single-season home runs (3rd, seven), single-season runs (7th, 38), single-season doubles (8th, 12) career home runs (8th, 10) and career doubles (10th, 19). This is Silk's second all-conference team honor (2015 Skyline First-Team).

The Gators gear up for the Skyline Conference Championship Final Series on Sat., May 7 against Mount Saint Mary at Mount Saint Mary. The conference champion will advance to the NCAA Tournament. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 11 a.m.
