Troy, NY –The Sage Colleges' men's outdoor track and field team was in action on Saturday at the Capital District Championship on the campus of RPI for a non-team scored meet. The meet was the final competition for the Gators on the 2016 season.
In the 5,000 meter run, senior Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker) picked up 15th in 16:56.34, while rookie Zachary Funk (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) added a 19th place showing in 17:40.67. Funk also finished in 14th in the 400 meter run in 53.47.
Freshman Malik McNeish (Bronx, NY/The Eagle Academy for Young Men) took home 22nd place in the 400 meter run in 1:00.82, while junior Ian Alejandro (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) posted a time of 2:17.27 to take37th in the 800 meter run and 27th place in the 1,500 meter run in 4:46.61.
Rookie Benjamin Hulett (Shaftbury, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) finished in 12th place in the javelin with a throw of 36.77 meters. He was 20th in the shot put and the discus with marks of 10.26meters in the shot and 26.97 meters in the discus.
Freshman Markenzi Sainvilus (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) was 41st in the same race in 14.74, while sophomore Jacob Clouse (Coeymans, NY.Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 43rd in the 100 meter run in 16.15.
