Albany, NY-- The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team hosted the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Tuesday night for a Skyline Conference contest. The Dolphins collected the 65-62 win to improve to 7-17 overall and 5-12 in the league. The loss puts Sage at 11-12 overall and 6-10 in the Skyline.

CMSV's senior guard Shaquille Cunningham (Brooklyn, NY/Nazareth Regional) propelled the Dolphins to the win as he hit a lay-up with 0:18 left to put his team up 65-62 and a last second three attempt by the Gators failed to hit the mark. Cunningham finished with a team-best 19 points and was 3-5 from three-point range as the Dolphin made nine three pointers on the night.

Sage took a 33-32 lead at the break as senior center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) hit a layup at 0:10 to give his team the only lead of the first stanza.

In the second half the teams were tied four times down the stretch with the last coming at 4:21 at 59-59. Sage picked up a 61-59 lead as senior forward Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) hit a key layup at 3:45 and converted the three-point play to put the Gators up by three. Cunningham made two free throws at the 2:31 mark before junior James Zuccaro (Gilbert, AZ/Highland) made a layup at 1:37 to put his team up by one, 63-62.

Sage's Jeff Stopera's (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) last second three-pointer fell short as time expired. For the game, Sage was led by junior Mason Horne (Albany, NY/LaSalle Institute), who finished with 19 points with eight rebounds. He has now collected 941 career points and is poised to become the program's second 1,000 point scorer and possibly the second Gator this season to achieve the mark. Farbotko netted 16 points, while Sage added his ninth double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.

CMSV's Zuccaro added 14 points and a team-best eight rebounds for the Dolphins, while adding two blocked shots as well.
