Centerville, MA-- The Sage College's senior men's basketball player, Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division III Player of the Week. The honor was the second for the Gators' all-time leading scorer as he was also named the Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
He averaged 21.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting a blistering 70.4 percent (19-of-27) from the field over three contests as Sage earned its first-ever berth to this week's Skyline Championship as the No. 5 seed. He scored a team-high 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting on Feb. 16 as the Gators edged Old Westbury in double overtime, 98-96 and he poured in 21 points in a 96-65 victory over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Feb. 14. Farbotko scored 16 points on Feb. 12 in the Gators' 65-62 loss to Mount Saint Vincent. He shot 6-of-7 from beyond the arc on the week.
