Gators rack up convincing win over SUNY-Canton, 83-51

Canton, NY-- The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team travelled to SUNY-Canton for a non-conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon and returned with a convincing win under its belt. Sage topped SUNY-Canton 83-51 to improve to 8-7 overall, while the loss puts SUNY-Canton at 5-12.

Sage led 48-25 at the break and never looked back as they cruised to the win as five players finished with double-double scoring performances. Leading the way for the Gators was junior Mason Horne (Albany, NY/La Salle Institute) as he tallied 17 points, while senior forward Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) finished with 13 points.

Junior guard Ryan LaBelle (East Berne, NY/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) each finished with a season-high 12 points off the bench after he made 3-of-6 three-pointers.

Junior guard Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) added 11 points with six assists, while senior center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. He also had a pair of blocks in the action as Sage dominated the Roos on the boards 53-31 and held their hosts to a 31.6 shooting performance from the floor in the action.

Sage returns to action on Tuesday, January 22 facing SUNY-Old Westbury on the road in a conference contest at 7 p.m.
