New York, NY--- The Sage Colleges' freshman forward Melvin Ford (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) was named the Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on November 26 for his outstanding play last week.

Against RPI, he was instrumental in the team's come-from-behind win as they beat the Engineers, 94-89. He connected on a  personal-best as well as he hauled in 11 points and is now averaging 7.3 ppg with a 2.7 rpg average. He has played in all three games thus far for the Gators and is averaging 20.3 minutes a game.

Sage returns to the court on November 27 when they team hosts Bard College in the team's 2012-2013 home opener. Action commences at 8 p.m. in the Kahl Gym.
