Sage Career Stats

Named the recipient of the Gator Award in 2011-2012 as the team MVP Mason Horne is coming off an impressive sophomore season.

 

He finished the year as the leading scorer with 301 points, good enough for a 12.0 ppg average. He was the Gators’ high scorer 10 times, while finishing as high-rebounder on three other occasions. He had a 4.8 rpg average, while elevating his career resume to include 565 points, which stands second-best for the Gators. Horne has 215 career rebounds with 65 assists and 43 steals in 50 games played with 35 starts. Over the course of the season, he earned one selection to the Skyline Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

As a rookie in 2009-2010, he was part of the start of Sage's varsity men's basketball program. He started 17 of 25 games played. He finished the season with a 10.6 ppg and 3.4 rpg average, while playing 24.0 minutes per game.

With considerable success as a rookie, Sage was looking forward to the return of Horne in 2010-2011, but he was forced to sit out after a suffering a preseason injury.

A graduate of LaSalle Institute, he earned four varsity letters and was honored as a al-league Big Ten player as a junior and senior. He also earned All-City Honors in Troy as a junior and senior, while serving as a team captain as a senior.

An honor graduate from LaSalle, he was voted Sage's Most Improved Player as a rookie in 2009-2010 and the Gator Award Winner last season.

He is majoring in biology at Sage and would like to pursue a career as a physical therapist upon graduation. He is the son of Deven Horne and the late Milton Horne. His father Milton was a former basketball standout, who played in the 1970 NCAA Division I Final Four for New Mexico.
