ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer put three players: junior defender Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen), senior defender Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central), and junior defender Katelyn Odorizzi (Voorheesville, NY/Clayton A. Bouton), on the 2024 All-Empire 8 Conference teams. The Conference office announced the results of the voting, which was conducted by the head coaches, earlier today.
Bush, the anchor of the RSC defense, was voted second-team All-E8. The three-time All-Conference performer helped the Gators rank third in the E8 with a 0.89 goals-against average and tally six clean sheets this fall.
"Courtney's presence on the field has been a game-changer for us," said Head Coach Garrett Cobb. "As a leader in our defense, she's consistently set the standard with her performance and commitment. Making All-Conference reflects her incredible impact on our program, and we're grateful for all she brings to our team each day."
Geesler earned third-team honors. She topped the Gators with four goals to tie for the team lead with eight points. Geesler tallied three game-winning goals, good to tie for third in the Conference.
"Amelia has been an absolute cornerstone of our team, showing unmatched dedication and resilience," said Cobb. "Her ability to lead our defense and inspire her teammates has been instrumental in our success over the past four years. Earning All-Conference honors is a testament to her hard work and leadership on and off the field."
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024 E8 Women's Soccer Sportswomen of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen. Odorizzi represented the Gators on the squad.
RSC (6-7-5/5-3-3 E8) made the E8 Championship Tournament for the fifth time in program history, including in each of the past three years. The Gators fell 1-0 at Nazareth in the Quarterfinals.
