Gators Fall in Capital Region Battle

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer traveled just down the road to Schenectady for a battle with the Garnet Chargers of Union on Wednesday, falling 1-0 in the contest.

The Garnet Chargers got their shots off early, taking eight in the first half before the Gators held them to just one shot for the final 29 minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Hailey Blake (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) (0-1-0) started for the first time in her RSC career, registering six saves in the non-conference action.

The Gators are back in action on Saturday as they welcome St. John Fisher to town for the Gators' Aid Game. 


Gator Bites: The Gators are coming off of their second-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals…15 players, including eight starters, return this fall…First-team All-E8 Conference picks junior defender Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) and forward Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), a grad student, highlight the group.
