Sage falls twice in Skyline action on Saturday in men's volleyball

Mahwah, NJ– The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team traveled to Ramapo College for a Skyline Conference tri-match with Ramapo College and the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday. Ramapo topped Sage 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-16) and Sage fell to the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent, 3-0 (25-19,25-22,25-18). Sage drops to 8-14 overall with a 5-7 mark in conference play heading into the final league match-ups on Sunday.

Against Ramapo, the Gators were paced by the play of freshman setter Tyler Bastos (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) as he had three kills, while rookie Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) added six digs. Freshman Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) added one ace with two digs and a pair of block assists.

Against CMSV, Sage got six kills apiece from Guyton, senior Juan Polanco (Bronx, NY/Urban Assembly Academy), and rookie outside hitter Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam). Bastos added two kills with 22 setting assists and four digs, while Fitzpatrick racked up eight digs and was perfect in 15 reception attempts.

The Gators returns to action on March 29 hosting a Skyline Conference Tri-Match in Kahl Gym with Sarah Lawrence College and Kean University. Prior to the 11 a.m. match with SLC, Sage will honor their 2015 seniors Thaddeus Sipe and Juan Polanco in conjunction with senior day.
