Men's Volleyball team splits results on day one at Keuka Tournament

Keuka Park, NY– The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball competed on Saturday at the Keuka College Invitational. The Gators opened play on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Elms College (25-23,25-15,25-21). In the nightcap, the Gators dropped a heartbreaker, 3-2 to the Wolfpack of Keuka (27-29, 23-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-12). Sage is 2-3 on the year.

Against Elms College (2-8), Sage was led by the play of rookie outside hitter, Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam) and rookie Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) as they each had six kills in the match.

Sophomore co-captain Chris MacArthur (Hillsdale, NY/Taconic Hills) and freshman middle hitter Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) added five kills each for the Gators. Fitzpatrick added 12 digs, while Cecchi had three aces. Freshman setter Tyler Bastos (Ludlow, MA/Ludlow) finished with 19 setting assists, while adding three digs and three kills.

Against Keuka, Cecchi added nine kills with seven digs and five total blocks. Bastos racked up 13 digs with 24 setting assists and eight kills. Guyton had 12 digs, six kills with an ace. He also tallied and aces with six total blocks after he had five block assists. Fitzpatrick had 18 digs as well as well for Sage.

Sage returns to action on February 8 at the Keuka Invitational and will face Regis College at 9 a.m.
