Sage women's volleyball posts two more Skyline wins as they beat Purchase and MSMC

Newburgh, NY--The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to Mt. St. Mary College for a Skyline Conference tri-match with Purchase College. Sage posted two wins on the day, beating Purchase, 3-0 (25-4, 25-11, 25-18) and then topped the Knights of Mt. St. Mary, 3-2 (25-17, 22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-9). Sage improves to 17-7 overall, riding an eight-match win streak on the 2015 campaign.

The Gators have now won 26 consecutive regular-season Skyline Conference matches. The win streak dates back to October 3, 2012. The last Skyline Conference setback for Sage in conference play was a loss on Oct. 3, 2012 (3-1 to Mt. St. Mary College). Sage returns to action on October 18 for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match at College of Mt. St. Vincent with Yeshiva University.

Against Purchase, Gator junior libero Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa) had a match-leading and team-leading 12 aces with eight digs and was 11-0 in receptions with no errors. Sage's junior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) fired off eight aces in leading the Gators as they had a .405 attack percentage and held the Panthers to a .125 hitting percentage. Liebig added 35 setting assists as well in the match.

Sophomore middle hitter Alyssa Nellis (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) racked up eight kills, while senior Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) added seven kills and junior Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) connected for six kills.  Senior Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) added six kills.

Sophomore defensive specialist Missy Scheiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) also finished with six digs, while junior Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) added four kills and five digs.

In the nightcap, Sage's junior outside hitter Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) racked up an impressive 14 kills, while junior Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) connected for 12 kills.

Robinson and Mango added seven kills each, while Rimawi added 22 digs. Wilder led the team with her 38 digs, while Liebig added 38 setting assists with nine digs. Senior Maggie Brenenstuhl (Melrose, NY/Hoosic Valley) added 10 digs in the action.

Mango now has 666 career kills and is moving closer to becoming No. 8 on the career list, which is held by Kellie Jones (675). Berard is No. 11 now with her 591 career kills, while Robinson is No. 12 with 562 kills. Liebig now has 2,119 career setting assists and is No. 3, while her 139 career aces is No. 10 in career aces. Wilder moved into the No. 7 spot in career aces on Saturday as she moved past Catelyn Samoranksi (152, 2004-2007).
