Gators fall to Vassar in women's volleyball play

Albany, NY--The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team hosted the Brewers of Vassar College on Wednesday night in a non-conference match. Vassar picked up the 3-0 win (25-15, 25-21, 25-20) and improves to 12-11 overall, while Sage falls to 18-9.

Sage's junior Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) connected for 9 kills, while junior outside hitter Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) racked up five kills.

Junior libero Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa) had 20 digs, while junior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) had 21 setting assists with eight digs and two aces.  Junior Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) added 12 digs, while junior defensive specialist Missy Schneiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) added 10 digs.

Sage's Women's Volleyball Team will host a home Skyline Conference tri-match on October 24 in Kahl Gym. Sage will host Maritime College and Farmingdale State College on Saturday in conjunction with a full slate of activities. On Saturday, prior to the 11 a.m. match with Maritime, Sage will unveil championship banners for the 2014 Sage Women's Volleyball team, which won the Skyline Conference regular-season title as well as the Skyline Conference Tournament Championship and earned an NCAA bid. Prior to the Gators' last match of the day at 3 p.m. against Farmingdale State, Sage will honor their 2015 seniors as part of Senior Day.

Sage will be sponsoring a Flood the Swamp with White promotion on Saturday and there will be prizes for the first 25 Sage students in white as well as prizes for Sage fans in attendance as part of Family Day!
