Wilder earns All-Tournament Honors as Sage competed at Hawks' Invitational

New Paltz, NY--The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team wrapped up competition on Saturday at the 13th Annual Hawks Invitational at SUNY-New Paltz. The Gators dropped the first match to NYU, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-21). Sage then faced Fredonia State, but dropped a 3-1 decision (25-12, 24-26, 25-23, 25-8). The Gators re now 4-4 on the year.

Earning a spot on the all-tournament team for the Gators was junior outside hitter Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa).

Against NYU, junior right side Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) added nine kills with one block assist and was a perfect 10-0 on receptions in the match. Senior middle hitter Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) had five kills with an ace and a block assist.

Wilder had 11 digs with an ace, while junior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) had two aces with 17 setting assists and three digs. Junior outside hitter Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) also had two kills with two digs and two block assists.

Against Fredonia, Mango paced the Gators with her 10 kills with six total blocks including fie block assists. Wilder led the team with her 21 digs, while Berard added four kills with two digs. Liebig had 21 setting assist with three digs and two block assists.

Sage is back in action on September 16 for a 7 p.m. non-conference tilt at SUNY-Cobleskill.
