Wilder earns acclaim from Skyline; Ranked No. 3 in nation in aces

New York, NY –The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team member junior libero Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa) was named the Skyline Conference's Player of the Week after helping the team to a 4-1 week. Sage is now 18-8 on the year with a 5-1 record in the Skyline Conference and tied for first place in the league standings.

Wilder leads the Gators with her 411 digs and 68 aces. She continues to climb the list with her 161 career aces (No. 7), while standing No. 18 in career digs (844). She earned Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors after averaging 6.22 digs per set with 21 aces last week. Sage tallied 12 aces in a single match as the Gators beat Purchase, 3-0.

With the release of the latest NCAA Division III statistics, Wilder is ranked in four different categories. She is No. 3 in Division III with her 68 aces, which leads the Skyline Conference. She is No. 14 in aces per set (0.83), while standing No. 73 in digs per set average (5.01), and No. 81 in total digs (411).

A candidate for the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team, Wilder is an outstanding scholar-athlete at Sage majoring in nursing.

Sage will be back in action this week hosting Vassar College on Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match at Kahl Gym. The week concludes with a home Skyline Conference tri-match on October 24. Sage will host Maritime College and Farmingdale State College on Saturday in conjunction with a full slate of activities. On Saturday, prior to the 11 a.m. match with Maritime, Sage will unveil championship banners for the 2014 Sage Women's Volleyball team, which won the Skyline Conference regular-season title as well as the Skyline Conference Tournament Championship and earned an NCAA bid. Prior to the Gators' last match of the day at 3 p.m. against Farmingdale State, Sage will honor their 2015 seniors as part of Senior Day.

Sage will be sponsoring a Flood the Swamp with White promotion on Saturday and there will be prizes for the first 25 Sage students in white as well as prizes for Sage fans in attendance as part of Family Day!
