A transfer from Purchase College, Maggie Brenenstuhl contributed to the Gators’ success the past two seasons and will serve the 2015 Gators a team captain. As a Gator newcomer in 2013, she played in five matches and gained valuable experience as well.

Last season, she played in 26 sets in 14 matches, while adding 15 digs with seven aces. She has now played in 32 career sets as a Gator.

A former team captain as a junior and senior at Hoosic Valley High School, she helped her team to a second place  finish in the Wasaren League as well as a third round showing in the Class C sectionals. Academically she excelled having earned the Hoosic Valley CSD Presidential Scholar Award after earning High Honors all four years.

She has been a Dean’s List student every semester and is majoring in environmental science at Sage as part of the PACE program. She was awarded the Spector Grant for International Travel and is the president of the Pre-Law Club at Sage. She was named to the 2013-2014 and the 2014-2015 Sage Scholar-Athlete Team for her accomplishments in the classroom and also garnered a spot on the 2013 and 2014 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.

She is the daughter of Eric and Janice Brenenstuhl. Recently she worked as an intern in the office of Albany County District Attorneys’ Office and as an intern in the office of Steve McLaughlin of the NY State Assembly.  During the summer of 2014, she travelled to Thailand, where she spent the summer riding elephants. She is extremely active on campus as she is involved with SAAC as well as Sage’s Dance Ensemble, Cheerleading and Pre-Law Clubs. She is a Corporate Connections Scholar and a recipient of the Transfer Excel Scholarship.
