New York, NY-- The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team had a trio of players and their coach honored on Tuesday with the release of the 2012 Skyline Conference All-Conference Women's Volleyball Team.

Sage's head coach Sandy Augstein-Collins was named the league's 2012 Coach of the Year, a first for the 1987 Russell Sage alumna who returned to her alma mater last season. Her 2012 team exceeded all pre-season expectations as the league' coaches picked her team to finish fifth in the race for the league title. The Gators proceeded to finish second in the regular-season with an 8-1 record in Skyline Conference play. The team went 20-13 collected a spot in the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro Division III Volleyball Tournament as well after advancing to the conference's semifinals.

Honored from Sage with a second straight selection to the All-Conference First Team is sophomore hitter Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville). A year ago she was named the league's Rookie of the Year and a first team honoree. She finished her sophomore season with a team-best 309 kills, while adding 416 digs. Her 2012 numbers, rank eighth at Sage for a kills per set average (3.0) on the single-season list. She also boasted a .919 reception percentage for the year and ranks fifth on the single-season list as well.

On her career, she moved into sole possession of the No. 7 spot for career kills as she has 686, moving past Kellie Jones (675, 2006-2009). She boasts the No. 2 ranking on Sage's career kills per set average as she owns a 3.09 average in her two seasons as a Gator. Additionally, she is ranked No. 4 on the career list at Sage with a .233 career hitting percentage as well as ranking No. 4 on the career digs per set list (3.86).

Junior setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) was also named to the All-Conference First Team after for the first time in her career. Overall on the 2012 season, she started every match and had 75 kills with 308 digs.  She led the team with her 952 setting assists, which is a personal-best for the junior. Overall on her career, her resume includes 208 kills, 780 digs, 103 aces and 2,403 setting assists.  A team co-captain this fall, she is second on Sage's career setting assist list with her numbers, while her 7.24 assists per game average in No. 3 on the career list. She caps a strong season after also earning acclaim with a selection to the All-Tournament Team at both the Elms Invitational and the Ithaca College Invitational. She was also named the MVP of the tournament at Elms College after helping the Gators to the championship title. She was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week once during the season, while also earned a spot on the weekly honor roll once as well.

Named to the Second Team was Sage's rookie, Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa). She finished her first collegiate season with 174 kills and 167 digs, while adding 17 blocks. She played in 103 sets for the Gators and connected for 23 aces as well. Over the course of the season, she earned one selection to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll and averaged 1.69 kills per set as well, which was tops among the Sage newcomers this fall.
