Ithaca, NY - Sage's women's volleyball team wrapped competition on Saturday at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. The Gators tallied a 3-0 win over Wells College (25-11, 25-8, 25-17) and then beat St. Lawrence University, 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-19, 27-25). Sage is now 18-8 on the season. 

Sage's junior setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) was named to the all-tournament team for her outstanding play over the course of the tournament. 

Against St. Lawrence, Sage was led by a double-double performance turned in by sophomore Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill Richmondville) as she had 15 kills with 22 digs. Cooney added two kills with 38 setting assists and an ace. She also had 10 digs to pace the Gators.

Rookie Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) tallied seven kills with 11 digs, while sophomore Jillian Schwab (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville Manlius) added 12 kills with three serving aces.  

Sophomore co-captain, Katelyn Drollette (Cadyville, NY/Saranac) added 21 digs in the match to help the Gators past the Saints.

For the Gators in the match with Wells, Cooney tallied 23 setting assists, while Putriment had five kills with 12 digs. Drollette chipped in with 14 digs to pace the team. Schwab added four kills with a pair of blocks, while sophomore Ciera Holt (Delanson, NY/Duanesburg) had three aces.

The Gators return to action on Saturday, October 20 for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match at SUNY –Old Westbury with Farmingdale State.
