Oneonta, NY - Sage's women's volleyball team competed on Saturday at the Oneonta State Dig Pink Invitational. Sage fell at the hands of the Red Dragons of Oneonta State, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-13) and then dropped a 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22) decision to the Hawks of Hartwick College. Sage is now 20-11 on the season.

The Gators return to action competing on Saturday, November 3 in the 2012 Skyline Conference Championships. Sage earned a No. 2 seed and a first round bye. The Gators will compete on Saturday in the 1:30 p.m. Skyline Conference Semifinals against an opponent yet to be determined. 

For Sage, junior setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) connected for 21 setting assists with four digs against Oneonta State. Sophomore Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill Richmondville) added nine kills, while junior Katelyn Drollette (Cadyville, NY/Saranac) connected for 15 digs.

Against Hartwick,  Putriment racked up 11 kills with 18 digs for the Gators. Freshman Kera Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) added six kills with three digs. Cooney added 33 more setting assists with five kills and four digs.

Cooney now has a team-best 898 setting assists, which is her personal-best. She has elevated her career resume to include 2,349 setting assists, which is second on Sage's career record list. Putriment leads the team with her 284 kills this fall and is now No. 8 for career kills with 661. Drollette, who has a personal-best 423 digs this season, moved to 577 career digs.
