New York, NY– The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team had three players honored on Thursday with the release of the 2012 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis All-Star Team.

Sage's Kirsten Ackerman (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year. Over the course of her first season as a Gator, she went 13-0 in dual singles action as the team's No. 1 player. She finished the fall with a 14-1 overall record in singles play and was a perfect 6-0 in Skyline Conference competition. She also went 7-1 in doubles at the No. 2 spot on the ladder. She was named the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week three times this fall. |
Joining Ackerman on the 2012 Skyline Conference All-Star First Team was Sage's senior captain Mackenzie Riley (Albany, NY/Albany). Riley, who was a 2010 Skyline Conference All-Star First Team honoree as a sophomore, went 12-4 overall this fall in singles play. She added a 12-2 dual match singles record on the season, while elevating her career singles record to 22-5 as a Gator. She was also cited this as the 2010-2011 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an honor she will most certainly be vying for this year.
Sage' s senior Isabella Pericone (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) was named to the 2012 Skyline Conference All-Star Second Team for the second straight season. Pericone went 13-1 this fall and concludes her Sage career with an 18-9 singles record and was also a Skyline Conference Second Team All-Star as a junior.
