Yonkers, NY---The Sage Colleges men's soccer team faced Skyline Conference opponent, Yeshiva University on Sunday. The Gators racked up a 6-0 win to improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league. Yeshiva drops to 0-2 overall and in the league.
Junior defender Kevin Dommreis (LaGrangeville, NY/Millbrook) posted the first goal of the match and provided what turned out to the game-winner with his first score on the season at 11:13. Moments later sophomore Tyler Denton (Saquoit, NY/Saquoit Valley) connected on a goal on a pass from junior David Gould (Frankfort, NY/Frankfort Schuyler Central) at 19:46.
Junior Scott Jarosz (Brunswick, ME/Brunswick) connected on a pair of goals to elevate his team-leading total to 6 goals in 5 games this fall. Junior Michael Sparrin (Ilion, NY/Ilion) added a pair as well for the Gators.
In goal for the Gators, freshman TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) recorded the shutout win, his second of the week and is now 2-1 this year after making 4 saves in the contest.
Sage returns to action on September 12 hosting Southern Vermont College at 8 p.m. at Colonie Central High School.
