Men's booters tally 3-0 romp over Bard
Troy, NY---The Sage Colleges men's soccer team hosted the Raptors of Bard College on Tuesday evening at RPI's Renwyck Field. The Gators tallied a 3-0 non-conference win to improve to 2-1 on the year, while Bard drops to 1-1-1.
For the Gators, sophomore Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) connected on the first goal in the action as he converted a feed from junior midfielder Kris Kallenbach (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central) at 14:15. Junior Scott Jarosz (Brunswick, ME/Brunswick) connected on the team's second goal of the match and his second goal of the season on a pass from junior David Gould (Frankfort, NY/Frankfort Schuyler Central) at 27:51. Junior forward Michael Sparrin (Ilion, NY/Ilion) put the Gators up 3-0 with his goal at 37:22 and was assisted by Kallenbach.
Jarosz sits atop the Gators' scoring race with his four points, while Kallenbach has handed out three assists on the young season.
In goal for the Gators, freshman TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) needed to make no saves in the action in recording his first career shutout. Bard utilized the services of two keepers as freshman Dan Gagne (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) had 7 saves in his 45 minutes of service with three goals allowed. Freshman Gabe Rudd (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) played the second half for the Raptors and made one save in his time in goal.
Sage returns to action on September 8 hosting SUNY-Cobleskill at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem SoccerPlex. Bard returns to play on Friday, September 7 hosting Purchase College in the Raptor Classic.
