ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) earned first-team All-Empire 8 Conference honors.
Fox, the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year, totaled 325 kills, seventh-most in a season by an RSC player, to help the Gators qualify for the New England Volleyball Conference championship Tournament for the second-straight spring.
The opposite, voted second-team All-New England Volleyball Conference, sitsseventh among Gators with 599 career kills.
RSC (9-23) fell 3-0 at Endicott in the Quarterfinals of the NEVC Championship Tournament on Wednesday night.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The spring marked the fourth with Reid Hartl at the helm of the Gators…RSC returned six players from last season's team, highlighted by Fox, the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year…The opposite, chosen the NEVC Player of the Week twice this spring, headed into the postseason ranked second in the Conference with 320 kills...Setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shen) was selected the NEVC Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 30...He recorded 107 assists, 16 digs, eight aces, four kills, and a block to help RSC go 2-1 and secure an NEVC Championship Tournament berth...Hartl added nine newcomers to the roster, including senior middle blocker Confidence Burrowes (East Orange, NJ/Donald M. Payne/Wells)…Fox, Burrows, and senior libero Wylkins Occelin (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) were voted co-captains.
