SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For second-time in a month, Russell Sage College took on nationally-ranked Springfield, this time on the road. The Pride, sitting third in the country, defeated RSC 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17).
Sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year, topped the Gators with six kills, two digs, and two total blocks.
Freshman outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central)added five kills, five digs, and two aces, while freshman setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) registered 13 assists.
Springfield (18-2), now winners of ten-straight, aced 14 serves and hit. 354 as a team. Junior outside hitter Carter Durivage, one of four Pride players that had at least four kills, paced the victors with eight kills on .500 hitting.
This evening marked the seventh match in which RSC faced a nationally-ranked opponent. Now, the Gators (5-20) head to Brooklyn College on Saturday to play John Jay and the host Bulldogs in a tri-match.
