Gators Upended at D1 American International

RSC MVB

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.– Russell Sage College was upended 3-1 this evening at American International.

The Gators, which fell by scores of 25-14, 26-24, 20-25, 25-22 to the Division I program, received three or more kills from five different players.

Sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year, paced RSC with 10 kills, 10 total blocks, three digs and two aces.

Freshman middle blocker Evan Devine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) added eight kills on .421 hitting and four total blocks, while freshman setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) dished out 27 assists and aced three serves.

AIC (1-0) hit .237 as a team and received double-digit kills from a trio of players in the home win. Sophomore outside hitter Willie Lopez Morales topped the Yellow Jackets with 17 kills and eight digs.

RSC (0-5) is back in action a week from tonight, Wednesday, January 22 at Elms. Start time is slated for 7:00 PM.

Payne/Wells)…Fox, Burrows, and senior opposite Wylkins Occelin (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) were voted co-captains.
