ALBANY, N.Y. – With Friday's home sweep of Vermont State University: Johnson, Russell Sage College Men's Volleyball secured a spot in the New England Volleyball Conference Championship Tournament. The Gators will be seeded sixth and play on the road in a Quarterfinal match on Wednesday, April 9
Seven different Gators registered multiple kills in the 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-22) victory.
Junior outside hitter Sean Pingelski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 NEVC Rookie of the Year, topped all players with 11 kills apiece. Pingelski hit .474 and elevated eight Badger attacks.
Freshman outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added seven kills on .500 hitting, while the freshmen setting duo of Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and setter Sean O'Brien (Unionville, CT/Farmington) combined for 33 assists.
Junior middle hitter Sam Munson and junior defensive specialist Carter Hubley paced VTSU: Johnson (6-11/0-5 NEVC) with four kills each.
RSC (8-20/1-4 NEVC) concludes its home schedule with a Saturday afternoon tri-match against SUNY Potsdam and Curry.
