BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Russell Sage College took both of its non-conference contests at Saturday's Brooklyn College tri-match, which also featured John Jay, by identical 3-1 scores.
Sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year, topped the Gators with 39 kills on .317 hitting, 14 digs, six total blocks, and three aces on the day.
Freshman outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added 23 kills, while freshman setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) totaled 81 assists across the eight sets.
In the middle match of the day, the Gators snapped a five-game slide with a 3-1 (26-28, 25-23, 25-22, 29-27) win vs. John Jay (14-6). RSC totaled nine blocks, aced nine serves and hit .254 as a team in the victory. Fox tallied 20 kills on .361 hitting and nine digs, while Lindheimer recorded a double-double of 14 kills on .219 hitting and 15 digs.
RSC closed the afternoon by holding the host Bulldogs (8-14) to .067 hitting in the 3-1 victory (25-19, 22-25, 29-27, 25-15). Fox hit .389 en route to 19 kills, while junior outside hitter Sean Pingelski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) contributed 12 kills and three assists.
Looking ahead, RSC (7-20) returns to NEVC play on Friday, March 28 against Vermont State: Johnson.
