ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College split a pair of non-conference matches at Saturday's home tri-match with Elms and Elmira.
Sophomore opposite Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), the 2024 New England Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year, registered 25 kills, 4.17 per-set on .360 hitting across the six sets. He added 14 digs, four total blocks, two assists, and two aces.
Freshman middle blocker Evan Devine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) tossed in nine kills on .412 hitting, and five total blocks, while freshman setter Anthony Guetti (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) dished out 39 assists and blocked four Elms and Elmira attacks.
The Gators opened the day by sweeping Elms 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 29-27).
Fox topped all participants with 11 kills on .364 hitting, eight digs, and three total blocks.
Freshman outside hitter John Lindheimer (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) added seven kills on .545 hitting, and five digs, while Guetti distributed 18 assists.
RSC limited Elms (2-6) to .000 hitting in the sweep, including negative hitting percentages in each of the opening two sets. The Gators registered seven total blocks and aced five serves.
Sophomore right side Nick Uschmann paced the Blazers (2-5) with nine kills on .278 hitting.
The afternoon concluded with Elmira improving to 11-0 with a sweep of RSC (25-16, 25-18, 25-23).
Fox paced the Gators with 14 kills on .357 hitting, and six digs.
The Soaring Eagles received five or more kills from five different players in the victory. Outside hitter Jordan Peiser, a grad student, led the way with 16 kills on .560 hitting.
RSC (3-10) plays next on Tuesday at Bard.
