ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Men's Soccer used a high-powered offensive attack to take down the visiting Owls of Westfield State 4-1 on Tuesday night.

The Gators got the scoring started early, as forward El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx, NY/Emma Lazarus), a grad student, found the back of the net, and junior midfielder Alejandro Aleo (Alicante, Spain/Ira Macia Abela/Saint Rose) scored on a cross from sophomore forward Dimitri Gogas (Merrick, NY/W.C. Mepham) to give RSC a 2-0 lead less than fifteen minutes into the contest.

Iba Sy tacked on another one to give the Gators a 3-0 advantage going into the break.

Sophomore midfielder Ammar Singaporewala (Loudonville, NY/Shaker) rocketed one from nearly half-field off a throw-in by senior defender Mason Kievit (LaGrange, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) to push the score to 4-0.

Westfield State got one back in the 69th minute, as freshman midfielder Will Bowen scored on a penalty kick, but it was not enough to keep with the high-scoring Gator attack.

Freshman goalkeeper Maximilian Bertmann (South Burlington, VT/South Burlington) (2-1) stopped three Owl shots. The Gators outshot Westfield State (2-3) 13-7 in the match.

"The boys deserved a performance like the one tonight, it's been coming," says Head Coach Amir Pasic of the victory.  "We took our chances well and the boys managed the game well. We hope to take this momentum into the weekend against Brockport."

RSC (2-2) heads on the road this weekend to kick off Empire 8 conference play against SUNY Brockport on Saturday.
