RSC Men's Soccer Falls in Rainy Saturday Afternoon Match

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Men's Soccer lost a close one in the rain on Saturday afternoon, falling to MCLA 2-1. 

The Gators were down 1-0 going into the break, and got on the board from a goal from senior defender Kunzang Sherpa (Kathmandu, Nepal/Dumont (NJ)) off the corner kick from sophomore defender Christian Beres (Howell, MI/Hartland). The tie held until the 88th minute, where MCLA found the back of the net to come away with the victory.

Sophomore forward Dimitri Gogas (Merrick, NY/W.C. Mepham) and forward El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx, NY/Emma Lazarus), a grad student, combined for seven shots in the loss. RSC outshot the Trailblazers 11-6.

Sophomore forward Traizen Griffith scored the game winning goal for MCLA (1-3).

The Gators (1-2) are back on the pitch on Tuesday when they host Westfield State for a 7:00 PM start.
