ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Field Hockey had three players: senior defender Shauna Lanoue (Troy, NY/Columbia), midfielder Alexa Wentz (Whitney Point, NY/ Whitney Point), a grad student, and sophomore midfielder Cheyanne Zobel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), make the 2024 All-Empire 8 Conference teams.  The Conference office announced the results of the voting, which was conducted by the head coaches, earlier today.

"I am so proud of all our truly deserving honorees," said Head Coach Carissa Warren. "Alexa, Cheyanne, and Shauna were instrumental in our game play and leadership this year. I could not be happier for them and all of their accomplishments. This has been an unforgettable year and I am so excited for their influence and leadership to have a ripple effect on years to come."

Wentz and Zobel were voted third-team All-E8 for the second-straight autumn.

Zobel topped the Gators with 15 points on five goals and five assists.  She finished the fall as the program leader with 17 career assists and sits fifth among RSC players with 35 career points.

Wentz led RSC with six goals this fall.  She added two assists for 14 points, and concluded the season with 15 career goals, good for fifth in school records.

One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024 E8 Field Hockey Sportswomen of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.  Lanoue represented the Gators on the squad.

Lanoue finished her fall with a program record 63 career games played. She registered a team-best three defensive saves this season.
