ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Field Hockey freshman goalkeeper/midfielder Olivia Brand (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) was selected the E8 Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 29.
The rookie excelled in both goal and the field this week. She scored a goal in Friday's shutout of visiting Elmira before making 13 saves in her first collegiate start, a 2-0 non-conference setback at RPI on Saturday.
Looking ahead, RSC (1-7/1-3 E8) plays next on Wednesday afternoon at Castleton.
