ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Field Hockey goalkeeper Jaia Caron (Bellows Falls, VT/Bellows Falls Union) was selected the Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 8.
Caron, who holds the program record for career shutouts, turned aside 18 Union shots on Saturday afternoon. It marked the 13th time in her career that she made double-digit saves in a contest.
The junior commences the week ranked third in the country with 18.50 saves per-game.
RSC (0-2) hosts the University of Saint Joseph on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
