ALBANY - Russell Sage College Athletics participated in Albany's National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk, held on Saturday, October 5 in Washington Park.
"Mental health in athletics is so important and we walked to raise awareness of the illness," said Softball infielder Allison Kenyon (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville).
"Mental illness is an important cause to me because everyone goes through different stages of mental health and it's important to recognize what everyone else is going through," added Softball infielder Ciana Santana (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow).
NAMI, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, works to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.
