PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville scored twice in the final 5:33 to upend visiting Russell Sage College 4-2 this afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder Cheyanne Zobel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and midfielder Alexa Wentz (Whitney Point, NY/ Whitney Point), a grad student, each tallied a goal and an assist for RSC.
Junior goalkeeper Jaia Caron (Bellows Falls, VT/Bellows Falls Union), who began the week ranked third nationally with 14.60 saves-per game, tops in the Empire 8 Conference, turned aside nine Manhattanville (3-6) shots.
The Valiants, which had three players register multiple points in the home non-conference victory, held advantages of 25-8 on shots, and 10-8 on penalty corners across the 60 minutes.
RSC (0-6) is back in action on Friday night vs. Elmira.
