Four Sage men's soccer performers placed on ECAC All-Metro Squad

Danbury, CT The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team had four players honored with the release of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro Team.  Sophomore defender Kyle LeClerc (Beacon, NY/Beacon) was placed on the first team, while junior forward Peter Fabrykiwicz (Delancey, NY/Andes),   senior forward Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck), and junior goalie T.J. Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) were all named to the second team.

For LeClerc, the honor comes on the heels of a selection as a 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's East Region Third-Team. Also honored as the 2014 Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year and a Skyline All-Star First-Team honoree, he anchored a Sage defense that has allowed a league-low 17 goals this fall in the regular-season, including just six in league play. The Gators registered shutouts in eight of its 18 contests this fall. He tallied four goals and one assist on the year and helped the team rank nationally in several categories, including shutouts (0.44 per game, No. 72 in the final national statistics).

Fabrykiwicz led the Gators with 24 points this season on 10 goals and 4 assists and had a pair of game-winning goals this year. He is nationally ranked in four different offensive categories, including No. 74 in points per game average with his 1.5 point per game average. He was also ranked nationally in goals per game, total goals and total points, all in the Top 125 for the 2014 campaign.

Trinidad was a three-time Skyline Conference First Team All-Star after earning league player of the year honors as a junior and all ECAC honors as a junior. Trinidad caps his senior season with a team-best 10 assists and closes his stellar career as the program's first three-time Skyline Conference First Team All-Star, while tallying a school-record 82 points on 25 goals and 32 assists. He finishes his career with 25 goals (No. 2 all-time), while handing out a career record 32 assists. Over the course of his career, he had another program high-water mark for most game-winning goals (11). He was ranked No. 29 in Division III with his 10 assists for the 2014 campaign.

Zehner, who was a Skyline Conference Second Team All-Star as a rookie in 2012 and a First Team honoree in 2014, went 9-8-1 on the year in goal. A first-team Skyline Conference pick, Zehner continues to add to his extensive list of records as the Gators' keeper. He has active records for most saves (171) as well as most appearances in goal (43) and most career starts in goal (43).

Sage went 9-8-1 on the season with a 7-2 mark in Skyline Conference play and advanced to the semifinals of the league playoffs, while also garnering a spot in the 2014 ECAC Metro Men's Soccer Tournament.

Since adding men's soccer, the Gators have now appeared in every Skyline Conference Tournament since the 2010 season and finished this season as the Skyline Conference regular-season runner-up. 

Overall on the 2014 season, Sage outscored their foes by a 48-24 margin and blanked eight different opponents. The Gators combined for 44 assists and ranked No. 10 in Division III and No. 35 nationally in total points (144) as well as No. 10 in assists per game (2.44) in the final statistics release.
