Thoroughbreds best Sage in men's soccer action

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team hosted the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College on Wednesday in the Gator's 2014 home opener. Skidmore spoiled the day as they collected a 2-0 win and improve to 3-2. Sage drops to 0-4 on the year.

Skidmore took a 1-0 lead at the break as rookie Augustine Okoye (Abuja, Nigeria) scores his third goal of the season at the 19:19 mark.

Senior Adam Beek (Kingston, Jamaica) put in the goal at 88:22 on a feed from Okoe. 

Sage's junior goalie TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) had six saves in the action, while Skidmore's sophomore Derrick Yam (Longmeadow, MA) picked up his first win of the year and recorded four saves.

Sage is back in action in the Gators' on September 13 at 1 p.m. as they host MCLA at ACP's Athletic Complex.
