Gomez and Trinidad honored by Skyline Conference

New York, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team had two players honored with the release of the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer weekly awards. Rookie Heriberto Gomez (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) was named the league's Rookie of the Week, while senior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) was named to the weekly honor roll.

Gomez tallied his first career goal on October 11 and it proved to be the game-winner as Sage posted a 4-0 win over Maritime. He has now played in eight games this fall and has helped Sage to a 5-5-1 overall record with a 3-1 mark in Skyline Conference play.

Sage senior Trinidad dished out three assists on October 11 in the Gators'4-0 win versus Maritime. Trinidad, who set Sage's career assist mark as a junior, now has 26 career assists with 68 career points. He is No. 2 on the Gator point list with his 68 points on 21 goals and 24 assists and is No. 2 in goals as well.

Sage is back in action on Tuesday, October 14 travelling to New Jersey to face Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence College in a 7 p.m. match-up taking place in Elizabeth, NJ. Sage is back in action on October 18 hosting Farmingdale State at 6 p.m. at Saint Rose's Plumeri Sports Complex.
